Research Subject

In this project, the swarming of self-propelled particles is studied. Some recent studies using mathematical models suggest the existence of the universal features of the swarming via the orientational interaction. In such studies, only the white orientational noise was used. However, the correlation time of the noise is not negligible in a lot of the real systems. To investigate the role of the correlation time of noise, we observe the swarming of the microtubules driven by the molecular motors grafted to the glass. Analyzing the swarming of microtubules with the phenomenological model, we try to find the universal features of the swarming of active matters subjected to colored orientational noise via the orientational interaction.
